Festival of Wreaths December 6th
Join us At the Albany Historic Carousel for our First Annual Festival of Wreaths! December 6th from 6pm -8pm. Tickets for the event are $20 per person. Come and enjoy a wonderful evening of music, wine, hors d’oeuvres, a fantastic wreath auction and Carousel fun! 21+ over event.

Ice Skating
Salem will be on ice again this holiday season. The 60-foot-by-120-foot indoor ice rink will once again open its doors on Saturday, Nov.17, running daily through Sunday, Jan. 21.A few changes have been made to better accommodate guests, and guests events according to the statesman Journal. Salem On Ice hosted more than 100 birthday parties last season. To better accommodate them, they have decided to limit the number of parties to nine per day at either noon, 3 or 6 p.m. visit www.salemonice.com for a full schedule

Christmas Storybook Land 
Santa is coming to town for Christmas Storybook Land’s 42nd annual presentation, Nov. 30 thru Dec. 14 at the Linn County Fairgrounds in Albany.
Dress warmly and bring your camera when you visit our enormous indoor forest wonderland with over one hundred scenes from rhymes, fairy tales, and movies, PLUS two huge model train displays and a Victorian Village — all surrounded by hundreds of Christmas trees, twinkling lights, and holiday music.  Kids can meet Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves, too!
This traditional holiday treat is FREE TO ALL, young and old, but we are accepting commercially packaged food for donation to Fish of Albany’s food pantry. We are also collecting new unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots.

Caroling 
The Monteith Historical Society and Chafin Farms are offering Christmas Caroling by horse drawn wagon through the Monteith Historic District. December 14, 15, and 16, as well as December 21, 22, and 23 beginning at 5pm and departing every 45 minutes. Song leaders, books and bells will be provided. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased by phone or in person at the Albany Visitors Association, 110 3rd Avenue SE, (541) 928-0911.
Proceeds are dedicated to the Monteith House Museum and help us stay open to the public year-round.

Self Guided Holiday Tour 
a day of old-fashioned holiday festivities in Historic Albany, Oregon.Sunday, December 9
2pm to 7pm A variety of historic homes, including a downtown loft, will be decorated for the holidays and open for tour. Don’t miss the rare opportunity to tour the inside of these privately owned homes – some of which are on our tour for the first time ever! The tour will also feature historic churches, the Albany Regional Museum, the Monteith House Museum, and the Carnegie Library.
Entertainment:
Father Christmas will be out and about with his bag of treats.
The Monteith House Museum will be lit by oil lamp and fire light.
Take a moment to enjoy the fireplace in the Carnegie Library. This warm and cozy treat only happens once a year as this is the only time all year this fireplace is lit.
Christmas music will be played at various locations.
Whitespires Church encourages visitors to ring the bell.
Light refreshments are included in ticket price.

Caroling 
The St. Martin’s Episcopal, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). First Presbyterian, and Lebanon Mennonite Churches will host a community caroling sing-along of traditional Christmas music at the City of Lebanon’s Strawberry Square, 847 S. Main Street, at 3 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2018. The music will be provided by Ray Hendricks, keyboardist at the St. Martin’s Episcopal Church and long-time director of the Lebanon Community Chorus.Free Hot chocolate will be provided by the First Christian Church. The song leader will be from the Lebanon Mennonite Church.
The Conversion Brewing has agreed to allow the caroling to be inside in the event of rain. All members of the public are welcomed and invited to attend.

Toy Drive The Albany Fire Department supports an annual Toy Drive supporting children in Linn County DHS programs. You can drop off a new, unwrapped toy to one of five Albany Fire Stations, Albany City Hall, or South Pacific Auto Sales. A list of age appropriate toys can be found at cityofalbany.net/fire. Each fire station has an external phone or doorbell the public can use to contact firefighters at the station. City Hall is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. South Pacific Auto Sales is open daily; Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.Last year’s toy drive benefitted over 250 children. The Department also supports toy purchases by spending $1,000 dollars from the Albany Firefighter Community Assistance Fund, AFD’s 501c3, which supports community members in need.

Christmas dinner

Linn County Mental Health consumers, their families, friends and staff are invited to the annual Mental Health Association of Linn County Christmas Dinner on Dec 10.  The turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be at Albany First Christian Church, 432 Ferry St. S.W. Doors open at 5:15. Dinner will be served at 5:45 p.m. Attendees are welcome to bring a salad or dessert.  The evening will feature a concert by South Albany High Schools Ascend Choir, bingo and sing-alongs with Santa. Consumers who would like to showcase their musical or artistic talents are asked to call Larry Van at 541-967-3866, ext. 2195.  Also in store after dinner will be Santas Duct Tape Fundraiser.Santa and his helpers will hoist two long strips of duct tape over the audience as everyone sings Have Yourself a Merry Little ChristmasTheres no obligation, but those who wish can stick coins, cash or checks on the duct tape. All proceeds will go to the Mental Health Association to help fund future Christmas dinners and summer picnics.

LBCC holiday ceramics sale

The Benton Center Annual Holiday Ceramics Sale will be held Friday, Dec. 7 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the center’s ceramics studio, 757 NW Polk Ave., Corvallis.  A variety of handmade pottery crafted by LBCC ceramics instructors and students will be for sale. Breakfast with Santa Albany Historic Carousel

(Located at 503 1st Ave W, Albany OR)  is hosting Breakfast with Santa. Advanced tickets are required and cost $5.00 which includes a carousel ride, goodies from Natural Sprinkles Co Bakery, fruit, beverages, fun craft and coloring activities. Tickets are limited. All tickets are being sold at Natural Sprinkles Co Bakery located at 202 Second Ave SW in Albany. Stop by and see the new bakery and purchase your tickets.

Choral performance/concert

The Lebanon Community Chorus Winter Classical Concert – LUX AETERNA (Eternal Light)will be held at 3 PM Sunday, December 16th , in the Lebanon High School Auditorium, 1700 S 5th St., Lebanon.Under the direction of Kevin Wong, the chorus will feature the work of Pacific Northwest composer Morten Lauridsen (Lux Aeterna), two renditions of Ubi Caritas and exciting versions of several Christmas favorites.The Lebanon Community Chorus is a collection of nearly 60 talented singers from Lebanon, Sweet Home, Brownsville, Albany and surrounding areas. Once again, the Lebanon High School Chorus will be included for several numbers.A portion of ticket sale proceeds are donated to the Lebanon Schools Foundation Music Education Fund in support of local music education in the Lebanon schools.  Currently this fund is also being made available to upgrade instruments that elementary music teachers use to teach basic music skills.General admission to the Winter Classical Concert is $10; seniors (over 55) are $6. All those under 18 are free. Tickets can be purchased at the Lebanon Chamber of Commerce, the Lebanon Bi-Mart, and at the door.
